Tamil Nadu veterinary and Animal Science University (TANUVAS) is the first veterinary science university in Asia established by the government of Tamil Nadu in 1989 with headquarters at Chennai. TANUVAS is an autonomous institution governed by its Board of Management. TANUVAS has been ranked 1st among the fifteen Veterinary Universities in India by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). TANUVAS has nine constituent colleges spread across Tamil Nadu.
